My favorite 800 number has always been attached to an International Scout. I prefer the 80, and later 800 over the Scout II. The body was a little smaller and tighter just like every body should be – still curvy in the right places but no excess baggage. The seller says this Scout 800 runs and drives but doesn’t have any glass, so you’ll need some goggles or a helmet. The International Harvester people hauler needs some gear box, engine work and other attention too, but the body looks rust-free in pictures so you can save a little scratch there. The whole thing looks to be covered in a solid layer of light grey primer, including the top.
This Scout 800 has also got an extra hole bored into the rear driver’s quarter panel. Guessing someone was relocating the gas filler for some reason. This Scout has good bones as they say, and if you’re handy and can get some glass it looks like you can buy it on eBay for somewhere around two grand. If I were in San Bernadino, Cali, I’d be your huckleberry on this little 800.
