Far from a mud truck, this 1979 GMC High Sierra 3500 tow machine is too clean to not write about. Depending on the street legality of your personal vintage mudder, you may need a way to tow it. What better way to do that than with a vintage tow rig!
Let’s start with the obviously awesome parts of the High Sierra. To begin, this GMC has 22,000 original miles. I believe the mileage number because of the condition of the original paint. This exterior looks the part with a shine that is showroom fresh! Also, who doesn’t love the reliable and powerful GM big block 454 CI. Pushing that 454 big block to it’s fullest potential is a 4-speed manual transmission and push button overdrive.
This GMC 3500 is equipped with a number of aftermarket accessories. I personally would like this Sierra bare bones with the exception of the winch and Alcoa style wheels. However, this dually towing machine is just for you if you like toppers, running boards and plenty of clearance lights running down the side.
It has been a while since I have run across an all original square body in this kind of shape. It’s worth taking a look at this Ebay listing, if this GMC High Sierra excites you as half as much as it does me.
